Mining among essential services to continue operating during lockdown

The Cabinet meeting Chaired by President Paul Kagame held on Monday, January 18, put in place new strict directives to slow the spread of new COVID-19 infections.

In response to the pandemic surge, especially in City of Kigali, the Cabinet placed Kigali under total lockdown. Movements are only allowed for essential services such as healthcare, MINING, banking, among others.

Personnel performing such essential services will, however, first acquire movement clearance permit .
