Prof. Digne Rwabuhungu

Prof. Digne Rwabuhungu is the Dean of the School of Mining and Geology at the University of Rwanda. He recently elaborated the curricula for undergraduate applied geology and mining engineering programs of the School of Mining and Geology. He is the author and co-author of mining and geology research publications. Among others, Dr. Rwabuhungu edited the African Academic reference book, titled: “Design and Implementation of Degree Programme in Applied Geology” translated into Arabic, Portuguese and French languages and used in 14 African Universities. Dr. Digne Rwabuhungu holds a Ph.D. in Geology on a research topic related to Lake Kivu methane gas and an MSc in Hydrogeology and Hydrogeochemistry from “Université Libre de Bruxelles”, Belgium.

Diane Uwitonze

Diane Uwitonze is a Managing Partner at Beyond Invest Capital Ltd, an investment and transaction advisory company and also serves on the boards of Rwandan Civil Aviation Authority and the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda. Diane brings a diverse skill set and vast experience spanning over 10 years in investment and transaction advisory services.

Mr. Mitali Calvin

Mr. Mitali Calvin is a corporate and commercial attorney with extensive experience in Rwandan corporate law. He regularly acts as counsel to private and public operators, including the Government of Rwanda, banks, private equity funds and energy companies on matters such as mergers and acquisitions, project finance, notes issuance, project due diligence and general legal and regulatory compliance. 

Calvin also provides general tax advice with the main focus on corporate taxation including international tax treaties. He also assists clients in connection with legal audits and disputes with the regulating authorities.

His experience covers a range of sectors including energy and natural resources, financial services, real estate, manufacturing and consumer goods and retail.

Calvin is a member of Rwanda Bar Association, East Africa Law Society, Insolvency Administrator and a member of the Charted Institute of Arbitrators. He holds a master’s degree in international business law from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.

Eng.Umubyeyi Naila

Eng. Naila Umubyeyi has a career of over fifteen (15) years in Environmental Management and Civil Engineering projects. She is an Independent Consultant, registered as a Lead Expert in Environmental Assessment with the Rwanda Association of Professional Environmental Practitioners. She holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology from the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology and a MSc in Integrated Water Resources Management from the University of Dar es Salaam. 

Mr. Fulgence DUSABIMANA

Eng. Fulgence DUSABIMANA has fifteen (15) years of experience working in the Construction Industry and High Learning Institutions in Rwanda. He currently serves as Council Member and Vice Mayor in charge of Urbanisation and Infrastructure for the City of Kigali. Previously, he was involved mainly in Climate Resilience Construction under Rwanda Green Fund, Government buildings construction under Rwanda Housing Authority. He is Member of the Board of Directors of RMB since 14 August 2020. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from National Polytechnic School of Algiers, Algeria.

Mrs. Augusta M.C UMUTONI

Mrs Augusta M.C UMUTONI serves on the Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board’s Board of Directors. She has been working as an independent Consultant, mainly in the domain of Environmental and Social Safeguards, Integrated Water Resources Management. From 2008 to 2021, she initiated and managed the Lake Kivu Monitoring Program (LKMP), established to ensure safe and sustainable exploitation of Lake Kivu Gas Resources. This required Project Management skills and cautious integrated management of the exceptional Lake Kivu natural resources (gas, water, fish ….), shared between the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic Democratic of Congo (RDC) and located in a complex geomorphological region.

For over 18 years, Mrs. Augusta served as a government senior officer in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Energy Water Sanitation Agency (EWSA) and the Rwanda Energy Group (REG), providing strategic technical and institutional advice on sustainable development of methane gas from Lake Kivu.
