Kigali, March 5, 2026 — On 4 March 2026, Cabinet appointed four officials to the management team of the Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board (RMB). The appointments strengthen leadership across key technical divisions within the institution.

The newly appointed officials are:

• Mr. Uwiduhaye Jean D’Amour – Head of Department, Mines, Petroleum and Gas Exploration
• Ms. Umuhorakeye Alice – Division Manager, Mining Extraction and Inspection
• Mr. Maniragaba Ephrem – Division Manager, Mining Exploration
• Ms. Kantengwa Catherine – Division Manager, Mining Cadastre and Digital Information

These appointments come at a time when the mining sector is expected to play an increasingly important role in Rwanda’s economic transformation. As one of the country’s key export sectors, mining continues to position Rwanda as a competitive player in the global critical minerals supply chain.
