Ngororero, March 25, 2024 – Francis Kamanzi, the CEO of the Rwanda Mines, Petroleum, and Gas Board (RMB), visited the Rukaragata mine in the Ngororero District to inspect its operations. This mine is known for producing and processing Coltan, an important mineral for electronic devices. The visit aimed to check the mine's adherence to environmental and operational standards critical for sustainable mining.

The Rukaragata mine processes up to 50 tonnes of Coltan per hour, using modern equipment and innovative processing techniques. This approach not only boosts production but also aims to reduce the environmental impact of mining activities. The mine is working towards zero waste, indicating a commitment to minimize waste and recycle resources where possible.
